Head of Discipline Software Development

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Strong experience building enterprise applications using .NET (.NET Core / .NET Framework, C#)
• Solid experience with Web APIs and RESTful services
• Hands‑on experience with modern front‑end frameworks (Angular, React, Blazor; mobile variants a plus)
• Strong understanding of clean code, design patterns, SOLID principles, and TDD / unit testing
• Experience with SQL Server and T‑SQL
• Exposure to Azure DevOps, cloud platforms (Azure), CI/CD, and containerisation is a strong advantage
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle
• Design and deliver clean, secure, scalable, and testable solutions
• Lead and mentor developers to deliver quality outcomes efficiently
• Collaborate closely with architects, analysts, and clients
• Drive continuous improvement in tools, patterns, and ways of working
• Shape technical decisions aligned to client and business needs

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• 10+ years of professional software development experience (enterprise environments)
• Has delivered multiple successful projects in client-facing environments.
• Has experience mentoring and guiding development teams.
• Has been exposed to architecture, solution design, and technical decision-making.
• Enjoys building relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Is curious about the commercial side of consulting.
• Has the ambition to grow into a broader leadership role.
• Leads through influence rather than authority.

• Clean Architecture, Domain‑Driven Design
• Secure SDLC & OWASP principles
• API patterns, microservices, OpenAPI / Swagger
• Front‑end best practices (web & mobile trade‑offs)
